1926 Duluth Eskimos

Changed week-by-week display to indicate the Eskimos wore "Igloo-less" combo for November 13, 1926 game vs. Frankford.  This was based on research done by Tim Brulia at Pro Football Hall of Fame.  The "Igloo" combo was seen by our Bill Schaefer in a photograph of the September 12, 1926 exhibition game against the Bessemer Legion (aka "Gogebic Panthers of Ironwood and Bessemer, Michigan") in Superior, WI.  Remaining regular season games changed to "unknown" combo.

1925 Cleveland Bulldogs

Bill Schaefer:
"The Giants photo cannot be the Canton Bulldogs as they likely stayed the same from 23-26. We have them in the same jersey in 1923 and 1926.

This photo must be the Cleveland Bulldogs.

Couple o' things of note...
...notice how the white torso band creeps up the back to where a nameplate would be 45 years later...
...also on the Bulldog trying to tackle the ball-carrier at far right you can clearly make out a "3" that is huge - nearly taking up all of the white space on the back...
...socks are only visible on the bulldog closest to camera...
...went with maroon and white as that's what we used in 1927 and that's all Colorwerx had for the Bulldogs."
Tim Brulia:
"I agree that it's Cleveland. BUT, I think the torso band is equally the same height on the front as on the back. There's a player on the left facing front and you can see how high the band goes up his chest.

Are these white? The jersey and sock bands are not nearly as white as the Giants back numerals. Cream perhaps?"
Bill Schaefer:
"I'll meet you halfway.
I'll go with the cream color instead of white - I was basing that on Colorwerx.
But no, the front of the Bulldog at far left, his band ends below his pecs.
The two Bulldogs closest to the camera have the back of the band going up from the armpit to a point over the shoulder blades."

1920-24 Rochester Jeffersons

from email from John Steffenhagen:

"...The Rochester Jeffersons had only three official uniforms. During the period of around 1905 through 1913, some of the players had a "J" on the jersey. Around 1914 till 1919, the team wore the "Jeffs"  across the jersey. Those were the semi pro years. In 1920 to 1925, the NFL years, the team wore the plain red jersey you described. So no, the Jeffs script jersey was never worn in the NFL, only the red one with white stripes."

1969-1978 Washington Redskins

1969-75 - All striped white jerseys had Packers-style striping.
Crew necks were worn up through and including 1975 for all sleeve stripe patterns.

1976 - Champion went to a mitred (normal) V-neck, plain burgundy V on the burgundy jersey and B-G-B on both the Packers-striped and equal-striped white jerseys.

1977 - the flat-bottomed V appeared on the Packers-striped versions for 1977. Some '76 versions with the normal V on the equal-striped jerseys were still worn. Still plain V on burgundy jerseys.

1978 - the equal-striped jerseys were replaced with the separated stripes that had the Giants-style crossover collar. Again some Packers-style striped jerseys from '77 were being worn with the flat-bottomed V. Burgundy jerseys still had normal V collar.
